04/04/11. General Electric have agreed to buy most of Converteam for $3.2 billion dollars. Converteam is in the business of electrical power systems. More to come, stay tune.
04/05/11. Global economic losses from Natural and Man Made Disasters in 2010 reached $218 billion dollars. In 2009 this figure was at about $68 billion dollars. Approximately 304,000 people died from these events in 2010. These figures represent the deadliest year since 1976. Most of the devastation occured in developing countries where no insurance plans are sold or available. Since developing countries had no insurance plans in place the Insurance industry responsibility grew by only 60% to about $43 billion dollars paid out in 2010. More to come, stay tune.
04/06/11. The earthquake that hit Haiti in January 2010 killed about 222,570 people in that developing country. That one Natural Disaster contributed to about 2/3rds of the entire world population killed by such events in 2010. More to come, stay tune.
04/07/11. China's largest computer maker, Lenovo entered the tablet market by unveiling the LePad. The LePad has a 10.1 inch screen and operates on Android. The LePad is only available in China for now. More to come, stay tune.

So what was saved? $38 billion dollars. Over a decade that will add up to about $500 billion dollars in spending cuts. At least Congress is trying. Or are they? In the first six months of fiscal 2011 the Congressional Budget Office reported that your government spent/ran up $830 billion dollars. Yes this is true. Now if your ready, the National debt for THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA is $14 trillion dollars. ouch! So the $38 billion dollars of savings that Congress agreed upon is can we agree a bandade. 04/10/11. The 90 year old organization called Planned Parenthood has a little over 800 health centers in communities across the United States. The President of this tax funded organization is Cecile Richards. Dedicated Doctors, Nurses and Social Workers run the day to day activities. Planned Parenthood duties include Sex Education, Breast Exams, Cancer Screenings, Testing for Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Pap Tests, Birth Control and Abortions. About 97% of their duties are non Abortion related. Abortions account for about 3%. Total Abortions that Planned Parenthood conducted in 2010 was 330,000 babies. Abortions conducted by Planned Parenthood are NOT TAX FUNDED. Other duties Planned Parenthood conducted in 2010 were 1 million screenings for cervical cancer, 830,000 breast exams, over 4 million tests and treatments for sexually transmitted diseases. 04/11/11. China and India increased their forest cover between the years 2000 and 2010. China's forest cover increased an average annual rate of 1.6%. India's forest cover increased 0.50% a year. Sweden has about 70% of their country covered in forest by the end of 2010. The country Nigeria has been cutting their forest down at a rate of 3.7% a year. By the end of 2010, Nigeria has only 1/10th of their land were considered forest. As a whole the world continues to lose forests. The annual rate of deforestation over the last decade was about half that between 1990 and 2000. These figures are from the Food and Organization committee who report to the United Nations. 04/18/11. TODAY IS TAX DAY! In 2010, President Obama's family made approximately $1.8 million dollars income. President Obama's family paid about $500,000 in taxes. The First Family of the United States gave $250,000 in charitable contributions in 2010.

04/20/11. Chicago's Mayor elect, Rahm Emanuel paid about $38 dollars per vote to be elected Mayor of Chicago. All together $12.5 million dollars. 04/21/11. The owner of the New York Stock Exchange said it will reject any other bids other than the current bid from the German Exchange, Euronet. NYSE and Euronet said it will continue the merger bid proposed by Deutsche Borse. A higher offer was rejected from NASDAQ OMX and INTERCONTINENTAL Exchange. When this deal/merger goes through the majority stock holder of NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE will be out of the country. The question is why? More to come, stay tune.
04/22/11. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) reported that the first person diagnosed with West Nile Virus in the Western Hemisphere/United States or in the Americas was Mr. Gabrielli back in 1999 who resided in Queens New York. All in all, 1,200 Americans died from that disease. It traveled from the United Staes to Canada all the way to Argentina. The CDC reported that 1 in 6 mosquitos carried the West Nile Virus. That is how this disease travels. West Nile Virus attacks not only humans but also animals. That is how it travels. By Human and animals. 04/23/11. Mexico's competition commission levied a $1 billion dollar fine against the Mexican division of "AMERICA MOVIL". That is a moble/technology phone company owned/controlled by billionaire Carlos Slim. He is one of the richest men in the world. The company said they will appeal this fine. More to come, stay tune.
04/24/11. Chicago's average price of Regular Grade Gasoline is $4.27 per gallon. That is the highest price for gasoline in the nation. Mayor elect, Rahm Emanuel has had no comment regarding this gasoline price average in his city. More to come, stay tune.
04/25/11. The number of Hispanics in the United States reported by the 2010 Census has reached 50.4 million. That is 1 out of 6 people of the nation's population. For the record, the 2000 Census counted/reported 35.3 million hispanics living in the United States of America. More to come, stay tune.
04/26/11. Tornados killed close to 340 people in seven states across the nation. This is the second largest number of people in The United States killed by tornados. More to come
04/27/11. The state with the largest population of Hispanics is California with 14 million. The state of Vermont has the smallest population of Hispanics at only 9,208. More to come, stay tune. 04/26/11. The latest Manpower Employment Outlook survey reports that the outlook for employment is up 2%. The 2nd quarter of 2011, Employment Outlook Survey is at 8% compared to 6% the same time last year. The 1st quarter of 2011 the Employment Outlook Survey was at 8%. 04/28/11. The first Hispanic justice on the Supreme Court, Justice Sonia Sotomayor has been awarded the Philadelphia Bar Association's Diversity Award. This award will also have a name change. The new name will be "Justice Sonia Sotomayor Diversity Award". More to come, stay tune.
04/29/11. The International Monetary Fund reports that their projection of world economic growth for global Gross Domestic Price or GDP will increase 4.4% this year. The IMF reports twice a year on Global GDP. More to come, stay tune.
04/30/11. FACEBOOK was in court again. Owner, Mark Zuckerberg was in Appeals Court defending his claim he did not lie about what the company was valued/worth to the Winklevoss twins who founded the company with Zuckerberg. The twins were creating a similar social network company like FACEBOOK. Mark Zuckerberg took the twins ideas and implemented/started FACEBOOK while working for the Winklevoss twins. The twins got a settlement amount after taking Zuckerberg to court originally. Since that time, they filed a law suit against Zuckerberg claiming that the owner of FACEBOOK lied about the value of the company in court. That led to the recent decision in Appeals Court that the twins had no basis to file in Appeals Court. The case was thrown out and the twins will re-file. Mark Zuckerberg misled the twins from ownership to the value of the company. The owner of FACEBOOK also misled his partner, Paul Ceglia from what the company was worth and Mark Zuckerberg denied him access by locking him out of the company. Paul Ceglia claims he owns much more of the company than Mark Zuckerberg claims. That case continues. More to come, stay tune.
